Another 52 Time Lapse

Here is the time lapse for the most recent 52 painting. These are good tests for some of the bigger pieces I’d like to time lapse, but I’m hitting the end of the time limit that my camera will allow me to record. For longer work I’ll either need to stitch together multiple recordings, or change the process or how I’m capturing it.  Either way, expect bigger paintings and time lapses soon.

I also tried for an angle that might get an appearance from the gallery cat, as she likes to hang out in that window and watch, but she wasn’t cooperating, which is pretty much par for the course with a cat.

Happy Birthday, Gallery Cat

There was once a time when I could paint without a little monster threatening to dash across my palette and track paint around my apartment in a furry frenzy.  Of course, that seems like a long time ago now, but it’s been just shy of a year. I got her when she was a few months old, close to when this picture was taken, and today she’s a year old.  She does her best to thwart my attempts at getting work done by attacking the end of my brush as it moves, hanging around practically under my feet asking to be stepped on as I move back and forth from the easel, and sneak attacking me from behind after I’ve brushed her away from freshly mixed paint.

I often return home to find that a paintbrush has been dragged around without mercy, and has somehow ended up behind the toilet.  In fact, as I try to write this, I’m fighting off attacks on my feet and attempts to sit on the keyboard.

Despite all the added challenges, I look forward to another year of the gallery cat keeping me on my toes with all her attempts at derailing my productivity in art.

Happy birthday Zoey.  If you ever sit still long enough, perhaps you could be the subject of a painting yourself.
