Wrapping up February with 52

Here’s a concentric fracture to finish off February with a time lapse to follow. I’m playing with angles more with this one.

Here’s the latest painting in the 52. I’m starting to merge the concentric and the more layered fractured pieces (once referred to as “sand art”). I think eventually all these directions will converge again to make some really interesting compositions.
Also, I mixed possibly my favorite green ever while working on this one.
I’m continuing to play a bit with topographical elements in the concentric fracture series. There was a point while painting this where a couple different choices would have taken this in a much more literal landscape direction. I prefer to keep things a bit more open to interpretation though.
This week in 52 I’ve created a sister piece of sorts to the last painting. I often do this to see how minor choices can affect an idea. I’m finding that this one isn’t working as well as the last 52 for me.
I have also added 2 new larger paintings to the Fracture gallery page. Well, they’re old paintings, but new for the site.
After a long delay, I’m finally getting time to work on the new batch of Mass Transit layouts. I should have a preview of some of the new designs up soon.
